Privacy

Updated September 9, 2026

Said stores recordings, imported media, transcripts, edits and notes in its local app library on your Mac. Speech recognition runs on your Mac. Said does not upload your recordings, transcripts or notes to a transcription service, and no Said account is required.

The recommended speech recognition and voice activity models are included in the app. If you choose to download an optional model in Settings, Said connects to Hugging Face and its file delivery services. Those services receive the network information required to deliver the model, including your IP address and the model files requested. Audio and transcript content are not included in these requests. Hugging Face may retain request information for service operation, security and analysis under its privacy policy (https://huggingface.co/privacy). Said does not anonymize your IP address before these requests. You can use the included model without making optional model downloads.

Said does not include advertising or analytics services and does not track you across apps or websites.

Microphone access is used for recording. Selected-file access is used for importing media and exporting documents. Exported files are saved to the location you choose and become subject to the storage and backup settings of that location.

You can delete a transcript and its related media from Said's library. Backups or copies you have made outside Said, including exports and system backups, are managed separately. Your Mac's backup and security settings apply to local app data.

If you contact support by email, we use the contact information and issue details you provide to reply and investigate your request. Please do not send private recordings or transcripts unless you choose to share them.
